| "Disappearing" channels (updated 18th April 2011) |
|
If you own a Vestel T810 or T816 based PVR, you may be finding that channels are disappearing
from your channel list overnight or after powering off/on at the mains. Exactly which channels disappear is dependent on your local TV transmitter. Basically, these boxes are currently limited to a maximum of 99 channels.
The recommended solution for avoiding this is
to perform an automatic channel scan and immediately manually delete any unwanted channels from the channel list, so that you have less than 100 channels. T816 owners should also ensure that the "Scan encrypted" option in the setup/configuration menu is set to "No" which will ensure that most of the channels that cannot be viewed on non-TopUp TV boxes anyway will not be added to your channel list.

| Jumping / stuttering problems after digital switchover (updated 6th August 2010) |
|
If you own a Vestel T810, T816 or T825 based PVR, you
may be experiencing problems after digital switchover has happened in your area,
particularly owners served by the Winter Hill or Mendip transmitters. Newer T835 and T845R models are believed to
be unaffected.
The symptoms are stuttering/jumping recordings and/or live tv (live tv might only
start to jump if recording certain channels, for example) which only started
happening on your box after digital switchover occurred.
OADs (Over-Air-Downloads) of software V13.0 started broadcasting on 18th June 2010 to fix affected models, after successful initial field tests of the V12.8 software fix in the Manchester area in February (further testing revealed some issues that needed fixing, hence the delay in a full release).
So, be sure to re-enable automatic updates if you chose to disable that feature. Vestel wish to thank everybody for their patience and reports regarding this matter.
The Hitachi HDR082, HDR162, HDR163 and HDR253 models were the first to receive the V13.0 update during 18th-21st June, with the Sharp TU-R162H & TU-R252H next during 2nd-5th July. Updates for Alba, Digihome, Durabrand, ONN, Technika, Techwood, Wharfedale (non-LP models only) branded models (may also have included Akura and Luxor models) got their update during 9th-12th July. Then the other Wharfedale models (the ones with low power mode) got their update during 23rd-26th July. And finally, OADs for Goodmans T825 models and the Logik LPVR88 & LPVR168 aired from 26th-28th July. This concludes the V13.0 updates for all available T825 models.
Unfortunately, although most users have reported that V13.0 solved the problem, some have been reporting continued problems. If you have V13.0 already and have found the stuttering/jumping problem to still be present, you may wish to consider answering the questions at http://pvrbugs.futaura.co.uk/view.php?id=197 - all information submitted there will be passed back to Vestel.
